Text Editor - Sources now at 31k

It’s been a great week for my tiny [heh :)] TextEdit - the source files now reached 31 KB (approx 31744 characters) in size, divided in 7 files with a total of approx. 3600 lines. This means that the code is pretty well organized (as in - the looks of it) since you get an average of 10 chars per line.

Anyways, the reason why I’m so happy about TextEdit is the fact that I’ve added the Search and Search Again functionalities during the last few hours and they work just perfect. If I don’t get too anxious tommorrow and celebrate in advance (i.e. get drunk… :)) I’ll code the very last part that’s missing from the original updated design - the Select-Copy/Move-Paste functionality.

Taking care of this work not to go in vain because of some _totally_ unexpected hardware failure Murphy might come up with has become one of my priorities, that’s why every hour or two I backup my files to a remote server, just to make sure nothing gets lost [or that I have stable versions of the app]. Or in other words Come onnnnnn biatch harddisk! Give up on me! Lemme see ya best shot!

As I’m approaching the end of this project I’m thinking about the next steps I will be taking in becoming proficient in C - quite probable socket programming in Linux. But more on that, in one of the next episodes. For now, stay tuned, the odyssey of TextEdit continues! Two days left (actually one and a half) until the deadline.
